Privacy and Data Protection

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit tickcamera.com, contact us by email or use the browser-based Tick Camera tool.

We aim to collect and process only the information needed to provide, secure and maintain this website.

1. Privacy at a Glance

When you visit this website, certain technical information may be processed automatically to deliver the website securely and reliably.

Personal data may also be processed when you contact us voluntarily by email.

The Tick Camera requires permission to access the camera on your device. Under the current technical setup, camera images are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our web server by the Tick Camera code.

This website currently does not use:

  • Google Analytics
  • Google AdSense
  • Google Maps
  • Gravatar
  • Embedded social-media plugins
  • Externally loaded Google Fonts

2. Data Controller

The person responsible for processing personal data on this website is:

Chon Buri 20150
Thailand

Email:
Contact@tickcamera.com

The data controller determines the purposes and means of processing personal data on this website.

3. General Information About Data Processing

Personal data means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This may include an IP address, email address, name or technical connection information.

We process personal data only where a lawful basis applies. Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on:

  • Your consent
  • The performance of a contract or steps requested before entering into a contract
  • Compliance with a legal obligation
  • Our legitimate interest in providing a secure, reliable and functional website

Where consent is the legal basis, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

4. Storage Period

Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this Privacy Policy, personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the relevant processing purpose.

Data may be stored for longer where required by law, necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or otherwise permitted by applicable data-protection law.

When the processing purpose no longer applies and no legal reason for continued storage exists, the relevant data will be deleted.

5. Hosting

This website is hosted by:

ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich
Owner: René Münnich
Hauptstraße 68
02742 Friedersdorf
Germany

The hosting provider processes technical data required to deliver and operate the website. This may include IP addresses, connection data, server requests, timestamps, browser information and error messages.

The hosting service is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing the website securely, reliably and efficiently.

Where required, the hosting provider processes personal data on our behalf under an appropriate data-processing agreement.

6. Server Log Data

When you access the website, the web server may automatically process technical connection information in server log files.

This information may include:

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Requested page or file
  • Referring page, where transmitted
  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system
  • HTTP status code
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Technical error information

This data is processed to:

  • Deliver the requested website content
  • Maintain website stability and security
  • Detect technical errors
  • Prevent misuse and attacks
  • Investigate security incidents

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website.

Server log data is not combined with other data for the purpose of creating personal user profiles.

7. SSL and TLS Encryption

This website uses SSL or TLS encryption to protect data transmitted between your browser and the website server.

An encrypted connection can generally be recognized by the use of https:// in the browser address bar and the corresponding security symbol shown by the browser.

Encryption reduces the risk that transmitted information can be read by unauthorized third parties while in transit. However, no method of internet transmission can guarantee absolute security.

8. Tick Camera and Local Image Processing

Tickcamera.com provides a browser-based function called the Tick Camera. It is designed to help users view areas of skin or fur more closely using the camera of a compatible device.

Camera permission

The Tick Camera can access your device camera only after you actively start the camera function and grant permission through your browser or operating system.

Without camera permission, the tool cannot display a live camera image.

You can manage or withdraw camera permission through your browser or device settings.

Local processing in the browser

Under the current technical setup, the live camera image is processed directly in the browser on your device.

The Tick Camera code does not transmit the camera image to our web server.

Camera images are not uploaded by the Tick Camera to:

  • The WordPress media library
  • The website database
  • Our hosting storage
  • An external image-analysis service
  • An artificial-intelligence service

No permanent storage by the Tick Camera

The Tick Camera is not designed to store camera images permanently on our servers.

Under the current technical setup, camera images are not stored by the Tick Camera in:

  • localStorage
  • sessionStorage
  • IndexedDB

The live camera stream is processed temporarily while the tool is in use. This is runtime processing required to display the camera image and is not permanent server-side storage.

Frozen camera image

When you use the freeze function, the currently visible camera frame is processed temporarily in a browser canvas on your device.

This allows the frozen frame to be displayed for closer inspection.

The frozen frame is not automatically:

  • Saved as an image file
  • Uploaded to the WordPress media library
  • Stored in the website database
  • Transmitted to our servers

Temporary pixel information may remain in your browser’s working memory while the feature is being used.

No AI or automated diagnosis

The current Tick Camera does not transmit camera images to an artificial-intelligence, medical-diagnosis or image-analysis provider.

It does not perform automated tick recognition, medical diagnosis or veterinary diagnosis.

Zoom, contrast and display modes

Functions such as zoom, contrast adjustment, inverted colors and other display modes change the visible presentation of the camera image locally in your browser.

These display functions do not determine whether a visible object is a tick or diagnose a skin condition.

Ending camera use

When you stop the camera function, the camera tracks used by the tool are intended to be stopped.

The camera stream is also designed to end when you leave or close the relevant page.

Website connection data remains separate

The local processing described above concerns the camera image itself.

Normal technical connection data may still be processed when you load the page, as described in the sections concerning hosting and server log data.

Your message will be retained until the request has been handled and no further storage is necessary, unless legal retention obligations or other lawful reasons require longer storage.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small data files stored on your device by a website or browser.

Under the current setup, tickcamera.com does not use Google Analytics, Google AdSense, embedded social-media plugins or Google Maps.

Cookie-consent system

A consent-management tool is not currently active on this website because no non-essential analytics, advertising or comparable third-party services are currently used.

If services requiring consent are introduced, a suitable consent-management system will be implemented and this Privacy Policy will be updated.

Browser controls

You can configure your browser to:

  • Display a warning before cookies are stored
  • Allow cookies only in individual cases

12. No Advertising Services

If advertising services are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy and the website’s consent mechanism will be updated before those services are activated.

13. Locally Hosted Fonts

The browser does not need to connect to Google Fonts servers solely to load these locally hosted font files.

Normal connection data is still transmitted to our hosting provider when the locally stored font files are requested from this website.

14. No Google Maps

This website currently does not embed Google Maps.

No connection to Google Maps is initiated merely by visiting tickcamera.com.

Ordinary external links, if used, establish a connection to the external provider only when you follow the link.

17. External Links

This website contains links to external websites, including public-health, medical, veterinary and regulatory sources.

When you follow an external link, the destination website processes data under its own privacy policy.

We do not control external websites and cannot determine how they process personal information after you leave tickcamera.com.

Possible recipients may include:

  • Our hosting provider
  • Email and technical service providers

Where the GDPR or another applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we aim to use an appropriate lawful basis and suitable safeguards.

Please avoid sending unnecessary special-category or highly sensitive personal data by email.
